#R1# Vernon fails with a takedown attempt. Pettis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pettis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vernon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pettis misses the shot to the body. Pettis scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pettis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vernon moves away. Pettis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Pettis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.#T1# Pettis scores with a punch to the head. Vernon has his takedown stuffed#KD# and Pettis counters with a crisp one two that drops Vernon! Pettis thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Vernon to his feet! Vernon is in big trouble!#ROC# Vernon is rocked! Pettis seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Pettis lands a brutal uppercut that launches Vernon off his feet! Vernon tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
