The Hammer has had enough of the clinch but Schmo keeps him there for the moment.#TD2# Schmo gets a trip takedown into half guard.#ES# The Hammer kicks Schmo off and gets back to his feet.#TD# The Hammer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Schmo on his heels. He'll look to pass Schmo's guard now, I'm sure. The Hammer definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This has been an exciting period of action! The Hammer trying to control but Schmo is working from the bottom. #SU# The Hammer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The Hammer avoids the body shot from Schmo.

The Hammer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Schmo is looking to escape. #T3# The Hammer with shots to the head and body - Schmo looks very uncomfortable down there. Brandon The Hammer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! The Hammer pushes down on Schmo's leg and manages to get into half guard. Schmo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SU# The Hammer stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.#TD2# Excellent takedown into side control there by Schmo. #T1# The Hammer dodges the ground and pound from Schmo. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Hammer can't do much from the bottom here. Schmo lands some shots froms side control. Schmo taking a breather here. The Hammer keeping his opponent close. Schmo landing a few strikes. #T2# Schmo looks up at the clock and then as The Hammer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Schmo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Schmo lands a strong strike to the head of The Hammer. That's dazed him! Schmo looking to finish here. The Hammer is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Schmo lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

#R1# Karlyle scores with a punch to the head. The Hammer blocks a head kick by Karlyle.
#TD# The Hammer gets caught flat footed, as Karlyle shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Karlyle wants to get up but he can't break The Hammer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The Hammer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Karlyle is one step ahead there. The Hammer keeping moving, preventing Karlyle from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Hammer keeping full guard, as Karlyle tries to pass. #T1# Karlyle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Karlyle tries to free his leg and advance position but The Hammer is retaining full guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. The Hammer will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Karlyle tries for a takedown but The Hammer circles away easily and The Hammer counters with a two punch combo. Karlyle doesn't succeed with the takedown#TD2# and The Hammer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Karlyle won't be happy with that. The Hammer looks winded! That's going to take a lot out of him.#T4# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The Hammer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Karlyle defends well and The Hammer ends up having to push Karlyle into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from The Hammer. The Hammer avoids the attempt from Karlyle to control. The Hammer controlling from mount. #T3# The Hammer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Brandon The Hammer has got the better of the ground game so far. The Hammer looking to control and managing it successfully. Karlyle tries to lock up and control but The Hammer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Karlyle is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because The Hammer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The referee warns Karlyle that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Pu scores with a nice hook to the head.#ROC# The Hammer is rocked! Kanagawa misses with a body shot.
Kanagawa digs a good body shot into The Hammer's ribs. The Hammer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kanagawa's waist but Kanagawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing The Hammer off to one side. The Hammer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kanagawa defends it nicely. It looked like Kanagawa wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. The Hammer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. An attempted straight right counter from Kanagawa misses the target. Masaaki Kanagawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon The Hammer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kanagawa blocks a head kick by The Hammer.

The Hammer shoots in for a takedown but Dawson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The Hammer looks to clinch and Dawson counters with a straight right hand. The Hammer misses with a takedown attempt - Dawson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.#CL2# Dawson closes the distance and clinches.#TD# The Hammer pulls guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Hammer controls Dawson momentarily but Dawson frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The Hammer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dawson manages to get himself to full guard.
