Diaz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nailor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nailor has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Diaz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That kick from Diaz tenderised Nailor's leg. Nailor is trying to keep his angry face on.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tim can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tim can't keep his opponent in guard - Nailor advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nailor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nailor is trying to control. Tim wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Nailor takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nailor passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tim!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nailor shoots for a double leg takedown but Villegas sprawls well. He's pushed Nailor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Villegas works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Villegas throws a head kick but Nailor moves out of range.
Villegas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Villegas, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
