and Kong counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ballardo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ballardo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ballardo pulls Kong in close to prevent any damage.
Kong tries to free his leg and advance position but Ballardo is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ballardo throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Kong crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Taktarov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Taktarov loads up on a big right hand but Kong slips the punch.
Kong seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Taktarov jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Taktarov's waist but Taktarov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kong off to one side.
As Kong backs off Taktarov throws a huge counter combo but Kong manages to avoid it all.
Taktarov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Taktarov throws a series of punches but Kong avoids them all with ease.
Kong half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kong fails to land the takedown.
Taktarov just misses with a punch to the body.
Kong drops down looking for a counter takedown but Taktarov sprawls and moves away.

Taktarov bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kong's head backwards.

Taktarov is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kong with a body shot.

As Kong backs off Taktarov throws a huge counter combo but Kong manages to avoid it all.
Kong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Oh Kong is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Taktarov finds Kong's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kong flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Taktarov lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kong will be OK.

A relieved looking Oleg Taktarov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Kong can't hide his disappointment, as Canoe celebrates the victory.

Nice sprawl there from Parker as Kong shoots in.
Parker wants to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kong is defended easily by Parker.
Parker fires out a quick counter leg kick but Kong just manages to avoid it.
Parker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kong doesn't seem bothered though. #TD#

Lee turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Kong off and cradles Lee's limp body as Kong celebrates with his corner.

After the fight, Matiku Kong was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

It looks like Matiku Kong has been cut.
Kong takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Are you kidding me?! Little ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Kong clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
