#R1# Smisk throws a right and a left that David avoids nicely. David tries to clinch up. David shoots in for a double leg but Smisk sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smisk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as David sprawls well. David wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smisk gets slowly back to his feet. David looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Smisk wants to counter the offense by David and move into the clinch position.#CL# David drives through and clinches with Smisk against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David is looking to break free of the clinch but Smisk has double underhooks. Smisk wants to break the clinch but can't.
#T1# David tries to circle away but Smisk has him pinned against the cage. David is trying to break the clinch but Smisk is controlling him. David is pressed up against the cage. David wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Smisk throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. Smisk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as David walks away with a smile on his face. Smisk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Nice sprawl there from Smisk as David shoots in. Smisk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Smisk throws a nice looking combination but David bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Smisk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. David was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#TD# David manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Smisk on his heels. He'll look to pass Smisk's guard now, I'm sure. Smisk has a closed guard, preventing David from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David shoots in looking for a takedown but Smisk manages to keep the fight standing, pushing David's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. David shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Smisk counters with a nice uppercut. Smisk dives in and grabs David's left leg, looking for a takedown. David pushes down on Smisk's head and hops out. David wants to clinch. Smisk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling David to counter with a crisp jab. #CL# David has taken the fight to the clinch.

David tries for a takedown but Smisk circles away easily and Smisk counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. David manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. David fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Smisk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but David was well out of range. Poor timing from Smisk. Smisk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around David's waist but David gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smisk off to one side. David throws a counter high kick but Smisk was just alert enough to avoid it.#CL2# Smisk has managed to clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eliseo David. Well David has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
