#R1# A jab lands there for Talley. Rodriguez fails with a takedown attempt. Talley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Talley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
#CL2# Rodriguez clinches up with Talley and pushes him back against the cage. Rodriguez lands an elbow that stopped Talley in his tracks for a moment. #CUT2# It looks like Donnie Talley has been cut.#TD2# Rodriguez jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Talley preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Talley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rodriguez wants to sweep here but Talley controlling him for the moment. Rodriguez trying to control the position here. #T1##SUB# Talley drops back looking for a leg! Rodriguez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rodriguez manages to kick Talley off! Talley jumps back into Rodriguez 's guard. Talley trying to control but Rodriguez is working from the bottom. Talley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rodriguez looking for a sweep. Not yet Rodriguez , not yet. That was a close round but I would say that Donnie Talley will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Donnie Talley's cut. That's the end of the interval. Talley leaves Rodriguez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. #R1##CL# Talley clinches up against the cage.#TD2# Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Talley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. #SUB2# Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Talley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Silva keeping moving, preventing Talley from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Silva working for a triangle but Talley defends it easily.
#T1# Talley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Talley trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. #SUB2# Talley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Talley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.#SUB2# Talley content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Silva has locked up a guillotine! Silva's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Talley is holding on here and Silva must be using up a lot of energy. Talley has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Silva gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
