The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Faber looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cryson is one step ahead there. Faber trying to control the position here. Faber bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cryson's guard. #REVB# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Faber passes easily into side control. Nice work. Cryson is trying to escape the position but Faber is controlling the position. #T1##SUB2# Faber has hold of Cryson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Cryson seems comfortable defending it but Faber has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Cryson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Cryson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Faber couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Uriah Faber! Our winner, Uriah Faber, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
