#R1# Novotas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Esposito manages to avoid it. Esposito misses with a hook
and Novotas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Esposito throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Novotas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Esposito definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A punch combination from Esposito misses. Novotas loads up on a big right hand but Esposito slips the punch. Novotas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Esposito .
It seemed like Novotas was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Esposito paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Novotas's coach down at Island Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Novotas's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Esposito misses with a wild body shot. Esposito takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Novotas with a body punch. A glancing blow. Novotas scores with a jab. Esposito acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Esposito tries to bum rush Novotas with a series of wild strikes but Novotas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Esposito tries to clinch but fails miserably and Novotas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Novotas rolls with it to try and escape but Esposito cranks on the arm and Novotas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

#R1# Tumulak slips a straight right by Novotas. Tumulak tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Tumulak takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.#TD2# Tumulak throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Novotas was covering up waiting for the punch and Tumulak finishes the takedown easily into guard. Tumulak is pushing down on Novotas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Novotas is fighting to maintain full guard but Tumulak has managed to sneak the leg through. Tumulak lands strikes from half guard. Tumulak prevents Novotas from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tumulak lands with a punch from half guard. Novotas is looking to escape. Tumulak looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tumulak scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Tumulak lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. #SUB2# Tumulak is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Novotas is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

A nice combination there by Wesley.
Richard Wesley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wesley walks into a left hand. Novotas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wesley shoots in but Novotas avoids the takedown attempt easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Wesley. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wesley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Novotas paws at him with a jab and circles away. Novotas appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. A left lands for Novotas. Novotas blocks a head kick by Wesley.

and Novotas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Novotas dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Wesley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Novotas swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Reinaldo Novotas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Wesley. Novotas scores with a jab. Wesley takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Novotas scores with a sloppy right hand. Wesley should have avoided that one. Novotas looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.#T2# Novotas cracks Wesley on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Wesley falls backwards against the cage. Novotas follows up with more strikes that drop Wesley to his knees. Novotas keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Wesley! This one is all over!

Byson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Byson shoots in and drives through. Novotas sprawls well. Novotas shoots in for a takedown but Byson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Byson tries to clinch but Novotas moves out of range. Byson misses with a takedown attempt - Novotas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Novotas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like Byson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Novotas. Byson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Novotas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malvin Byson.
