#R1# Turkleton tries to clinch but West is having none of it. West swinging wildly here.
West displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Turkleton. #TD# Turkleton gets a double leg takedown into West's guard. Turkleton is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Turkleton lands a couple of digs. West tries to land a sweep but no joy. Turkleton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Turkleton stands up over West, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turkleton sitting in guard, not really doing much. #ES2# West has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Turkleton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. #T1##CL2# West clinches. A short right from West on the inside. Turkleton has West pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. West manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. West cracks Turkleton with a nice body shot.#TD2# West jumps into guard, dragging Turkleton to the mat.
West really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turkleton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Turkleton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. West wants to sweep but no luck. Turkleton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Turkleton passes to side control. Turkleton working the ground and pound but West is defending the strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if West can do anything to dispel that myth. Turkleton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but West sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. #T3# West takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. #T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. We've been informed that West has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. West is trying to get back to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee asks Turkleton politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Turkleton prefers to stall for the moment though.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Turkleton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has West pinned against the cage. West gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Turkleton stands up over West, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Turkleton's corner is telling him to maintain position. Turkleton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.#T2# The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Turkleton slips a nice elbow through West's hands, connecting with West's forehead. Turkleton is controlling the pace.

Turkleton is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. West pushes Turkleton off looking to stand but Turkleton dives back in and keeps control.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Turkleton lands a nice short elbow. West is trying to stand up here but Turkleton is controlling him well. #CUT# That has opened up Bill West's cut even more. Turkleton putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!#CUT# The cut above Bill West's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Turkleton has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of West's face.
#CUT# Bill West's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bill West's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

#R1# West fails with a takedown attempt.#TD2# West dives in and scores a takedown into Turkleton's guard. Turkleton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. West throwing strikes but missing. West trying to control the position from guard on top but Turkleton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Turkleton wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turkleton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# West keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. We've been hearing that Turkleton has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Turkleton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. West defending well though. #T1# Turkleton prevents West from standing back up.

#R1# West throws a low kick, looking for Shaffer's leg but Shaffer calmly moves out of range. Shaffer swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. West gets off balance looking for a body kick and Shaffer counters with a left and a right that stings West. #TD2# West shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than West was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Shaffer wants to get back to his feet. Shaffer tries to get back to half guard but can't. The referee asks West politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. West prefers to stall for the moment though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaffer tries to bench press West off him but West keeps the position. Shaffer striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Shaffer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, West asserts his dominance and retains side control. West moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. #T1# West working the ground and pound.#CUT2# It looks like Benton Shaffer has been cut. Shaffer wants to get back to his feet. West really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shaffer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#ES# Shaffer explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! #TD2# West shoots in and bounces Shaffer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.#ES# Shaffer kicks West off and gets to his feet. Bill West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL2# West closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. #T2# The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shaffer fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Shaffer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Shaffer keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. Shaffer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#SUB# Shaffer looking for a guillotine here but West defends easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! West looking for a sweep. Not yet West, not yet. #SU# West is working an open guard so Shaffer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.#T1# Shaffer darts in looking for a takedown but West gets double underhooks and turns Shaffer into the cage. West misses with an attempted mid kick.

Shaffer went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. West lands a nice shot to the body.

The fighters land in half guard but West regains guard immediately. #ES2# West pushes Shaffer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. West misses with a kick to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. West tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shaffer swats him away and circles back towards the center. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Benton Shaffer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill West. West bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

He's got to try and protect it.#T3##SU2# West decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. #TD2# West throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shaffer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. West is in Shaffer's guard. Shaffer keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. Shaffer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as West controls the pace. Let's hope that West has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.#T4# West trying to control the position from guard on top but Shaffer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that's the end of the fight! Bill West comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well West has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
