#R1# Beezy misses with a jab, cross combination.
#CL# Vandelay has taken the fight to the clinch.
#BC2# Beezy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#TD2# Vandelay gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Beezy preventing the sweep. Beezy is working Vandelay over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Beezy lands a couple of decent looking shots. Beezy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Beezy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Beezy is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1##SUB2# Beezy is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Vandelay looks calm but he's in trouble here. Beezy gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Vandelay is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Beezy lets go of the hold and Vandelay can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rick Beezy! A relieved looking Rick Beezy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
