Myres looks to land a combination but Alonso avoids it well.
Alonso tries to counter with a clinch but Myres shakes him off and moves away.
Myres misses with an uppercut. Alonso saw that one coming.
Myres misses with a jab, cross combination.
Myres connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Alonso's hands.
Alonso shoots in for a double leg but Myres sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Myres cracks Alonso with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Myres was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Alonso is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Myres throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Alonso's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Myres dives in looking to finish as Alonso flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Myres's strikes! Myres is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Alonso's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Alonso was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
