#R1# Thomas throws a head kick that half lands.
Sarz Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Munakas's waist but Munakas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side. Thomas looks for a takedown but Munakas sprawls well. Thomas is looking to clinch but Munakas is avoiding it.
Munakas wants to counter the offense by Thomas and move into the clinch position. Munakas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sarz Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD2# Munakas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Munakas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Munakas scoring with punches and elbows. Munakas controlling from side mount. Munakas moves into full mount! Munakas working away from the top, dropping strikes. Munakas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#T1# Munakas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Munakas in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Munakas lands a big elbow - Thomas is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Thomas is forced to tap out!
