Mcfadden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mcfadden is trying to control but can't.
Traeger is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcfadden wants to get back to his feet.

Let's hope that Traeger has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Mcfadden has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Traeger is working away from the top position though. Mcfadden is trying to stand back up but Traeger is controlling him

Kenny Mcfadden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickie Traeger. Traeger is trying to pull guard but Mcfadden turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mcfadden gets underhooks to prevent Traeger's takedown attempt.

Mcfadden slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mcfadden lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Mcfadden working some strikes from top position. Mcfadden loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Traeger keeping moving, preventing Mcfadden from controlling successfully. #T2##TD# Mcfadden feints and as Traeger raises his hands in defense, Mcfadden changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcfadden throwing strikes from guard but Traeger blocks nicely. Traeger preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mcfadden won't allow Traeger to get back to his feet. Mcfadden has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Traeger manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mcfadden manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVB# Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Traeger stops Mcfadden from standing up. Traeger sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mcfadden's guard. Traeger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcfadden does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rickie Traeger has got the better of the ground game so far. Mcfadden is trying is best to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T3# Mcfadden pushes Traeger off looking to stand but Traeger dives back in and keeps control.

Mcfadden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Mcfadden can't do much from the bottom here. Mcfadden bucks up and tries to throw Traeger off but instead Traeger has got his back! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcfadden just trying to survive but Traeger is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rickie Traeger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! #R3# Traeger stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Traeger wants it to stay on the feet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Traeger can do anything to dispel that myth. Traeger is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mcfadden throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Traeger works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mcfadden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. Joyner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Joyner postures up.
