It looked like Tea wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Carl Menger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2# Menger fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tea sprawls well initially but Menger persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Tea is trying to control but can't.
Tea knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Menger on the ground. Menger thows a huge punch but Tea dodges it nicely.
Tea is positioning himself well to prevent Menger advancing to mount. Menger takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tea is looking to improve his position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Menger makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. A big right from Bedlaminov misses. Bedlaminov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Menger shoots for a double leg takedown but Bedlaminov sprawls well. He's pushed Menger's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bedlaminov throws a lazy right hand but Menger sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.#CL# Menger moves into range and clinches up with Bedlaminov.#BC2# Bedlaminov breaks from the clinch.

Menger moves to clinch but Runt breaks away and Runt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Runt waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Menger. Menger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Runt but Runt pushes him off and we're back to square one. Menger takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. We've been informed that Runt has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. A jab from Runt does it's job there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Menger has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Menger uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Zahav. Menger drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Zahav defends it well. Zahav looks to score with a jab to the body but Menger is just out of range. Zahav works the jab nicely. Menger slips under a jab from Zahav. Menger moves out of range as Zahav strikes. Jack takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Menger working the ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Jack tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Menger wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. #TD# Ho looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Menger wants to get back to full guard. Menger is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ho's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ho's back! Ho is trying to remain composed but Menger is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Ho is trapped and Menger is scoring with shots to the head and body. Menger punches Ho on the ear. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB2# Menger is persistently looking for the submission but Ho is defending it well.
Ho rolls, trying to escape but Menger keeps control of the position.
Menger drops a big shot to the side of Ho's head! Oh, Ho is out! He's out cold! Menger jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner. In his post fight interview he thanks God. Saying that without him, he wouldn't have the power to knock his opponent senseless. Amen.

Menger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nierer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Menger. Menger is nestled in close to Nierer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nierer can do anything to dispel that myth. Nierer wants to improve his position but Menger is controlling well.

Menger has a takedown stuffed. Dickskin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Island Top Team in the buildup to the fight. Menger tries for a takedown but Dickskin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Snake Dickskin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Menger. No luck with that takedown attempt from Menger. Dickskin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Dickskin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Menger has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Menger there as he acknowledges the shot. Menger throws the kick towards the body but Out avoids it. Menger blocks a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Menger closes the distance and clinches up with Out, looking for a takedown. Menger pushes Out against the cage but Out circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. As Menger tries to get set, Out tries to push him back and clinch up but Menger manages to avoid the attempt. Menger closes this distance looking for a takedown but Out circles away. Menger fails to land the takedown. Out leaves Menger with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.#T1# Menger has his takedown stuffed and Out makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.#CL# Out moves into range and clinches up with Menger. #R1# Menger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Menger gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #TD2# and Faber counters with a shoot takedown. Menger fights it but they end up in guard. Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Menger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Faber pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Menger is keeping the position for now. Menger looking for a sweep. Not yet Menger, not yet. Faber is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Menger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Faber tries to free his leg and advance position but Menger is retaining full guard. Menger keeping moving, preventing Faber from controlling successfully. Menger looking to sweep here. Big Daddy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Menger.#TD2# Menger looking to score a takedown here. Daddy is defending well but Menger drives through and ends up in Daddy's guard. Menger stops Daddy from standing up. Menger stopping the sweep attempt from Daddy. Menger connects with a couple of short punches. Menger throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Daddy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Daddy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Menger. Menger lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Menger missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. #R1# Menger takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Menger takes one on the chin but seems OK.
No luck for Menger with that takedown attempt. A little jabbing left from Ilram on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Menger has his takedown stuffed and Ilram counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ilram sizes up Menger with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Ilram jabs at Menger's body. Menger fails with the takedown and Ilram counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Menger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Menger gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ilram. Ilram lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Menger backs up against the cage.
#CUT2# It looks like Carl Menger has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Menger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ilram connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Menger scrambles back to his feet.#TD# Menger gets a takedown into half guard. Menger dives in for a single leg takedown but Thomas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.#TD2# Menger drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Thomas is trying to get back to his feet. Thomas takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
