#R1##CL# Rex moves into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Fairbanks fails to land. Rex tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fairbanks smiles and moves away.

Fairbanks tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. #TD# Rex jumps guard and drags Fairbanks to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. #SUB# Rex escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fairbanks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Fairbanks passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fairbanks tries to move to mount but Rex blocks the move with his legs. #T1# Rex is trying to improve his position. Rex prevents Fairbanks from moving into mount. Rex is trying to get back to half guard.#T3# The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Fairbanks is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? Fairbanks can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rex is looking to escape. Rex prevents Fairbanks from taking his back. Rex is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. #SUB# Rex is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fairbanks pulls his head out easily. Fairbanks is trying to control. Rex wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rex gets full guard. Rex not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fairbanks is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Rex looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Fairbanks throws the left hand but Rex avoids the punch easily. Rex displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fairbanks throws out the jab. Fairbanks throws a big shot that misses. #T1##SUB# Rex has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fairbanks is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rex. Rex gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Rex is in all sorts of trouble here.

Fairbanks seems keen to control Rex's posture. Fairbanks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Fairbanks is trying to control the action in half guard but Rex is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fairbanks tries to pass to full mount but Rex defends it. Fairbanks looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rex wants to improve his position but Fairbanks is controlling well.

Fairbanks seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#CL# Rex darts in and clinches Fairbanks up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Desmond Fairbanks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! #R3# Fairbanks missing with a left hand there. Rex was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. #CL# Rex has managed to clinch.

Rex fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGregor manages to avoid it. McGregor goes for a high kick. It partially lands.#CL# Rex gets in close and instigates a clinch. McGregor wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rex fails to pull the fight into his guard.
#TD# Rex manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Rex has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. #SUB# Rex looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rex has McGregor pulled in close to control his posture. #T1##SUB# Rex has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think McGregor should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Rex has tightened it up now! McGregor should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

#R1##CL2# Rex closes the distance and clinches. Rex is trying to pull guard but Dios has him pressed against the cage. Rex controlling the action here for a moment.

Rex tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dios just stands there and leans against the cage. Dios is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rex stalling the fight.
#TD2# Rex jumps into guard, dragging Dios to the mat.
Rex wants to sweep but no luck. #T1# Rex manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dios manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVB# Dios is breathing heavily. Rex sitting in guard, not really doing much. Rex slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.#T2# Rex tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Rex is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.#SUB2# Rex is trying to get an arm triangle but Dios is defending well. Rex has knee on belly and moves into mount. #T3##SUB2# Rex looking for a guillotine from mount but Dios is having none of it. #SUB2# Rex is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Dios is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Dios flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Rex anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Dios and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Rex slips an arm under Dios chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Rex has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Rex is squeezing on Dios like an anaconda would it's prey. Dios fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
