and Meina counters with a nice uppercut. #CUT2# It looks like Slade Lassiter has been cut. An inside leg kick from Lassiter misses. Meina wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Lassiter throws out a loose jab but Meina uses good head movement to avoid it. Lassiter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Meina throws a jab but it's blocked by Lassiter. Lassiter thows a left - swing and a miss! Lassiter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Meina blocks a jab. Lassiter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Meina swings for the body but Lassiter moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lassiter missing with a left hand there. Meina was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Lassiter throws a jab when Meina was well out of range. Meina tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. #KD# Lassiter lands a left and a right that send Meina crashing to the mat, dazed. Lassiter thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!#CUT# It looks like Menno Meina has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lassiter drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Lassiter throws a monster overhand right that drops Meina! Lassiter follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slade Lassiter! In his post fight interview, Slade Lassiter started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Lassiter tries to clinch up. Klokov swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Lassiter tries to clinch up but Klokov circles away and keeps his distance. Klokov stuffs the takedown attempt from Lassiter. Lassiter gets slowly back to his feet. Klokov lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.#CUT2# It looks like Slade Lassiter has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Klokov misses with the combination.
Lassiter swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Lassiter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Klokov sprawls well. Klokov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lassiter gets slowly back to his feet.#T1# Klokov lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

#CUT2# Slade Lassiter's cut is getting worse. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Klokov wanted to stand there but Lassiter had control of the position. Lassiter pulls Klokov in close to his closed guard and prevents Klokov from doing any damage or advancing position. Klokov wants to stand but Lassiter has a closed guard, so he can't escape. #T2##SU2# Klokov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lassiter, up you get! Klokov stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slade Lassiter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lassiter takes a swing at Klokov's ribcage but misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Lassiter. Klokov does a little dance to reset his feet. Klokov fails to land with a series of punches.
Lassiter seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Klokov fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Lassiter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Klokov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Klokov throws a shot from downtown. Lassiter moves away and avoids it. Klokov has the hooks in. Lassiter is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dumb throws a big shot that misses. Dumb lands with a good body shot. Dumb throws the left hand but Lassiter avoids the punch easily. Lassiter tries a head kick but it misses.
Dumb lands a nice hook to Lassiter's body. Lassiter takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Dumb thuds his shin into the meat of Lassiter's side. Dumb works Lassiter's body with a nice hook. Lassiter is breathing heavily. Dumb dips to his left and cracks Lassiter with an uppercut!#CUT2# It looks like Slade Lassiter has been cut. Dumb Dumb seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dumb blocks a head kick by Lassiter.

We've been told by Lassiter's head coaches at Gym Beam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lassiter tries to get out of the position. Dumb creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dumb throws an elbow but Lassiter slips to the side and avoids it well. Lassiter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dumb sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Dumb tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Lassiter has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Dumb really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dumb is squirming around, avoiding Lassiter's attempts to control the action. Dumb regains half guard.#T3# Dumb gets full guard. Dumb working a defensive guard here.
Dumb is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB##SUB2# Dumb is working for a kimura but Lassiter is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dumb thows a huge punch but Lassiter dodges it nicely.
#T4# Lassiter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dumb is working away from the top position though. Lassiter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dumb on the ground.#SUB2# Dumb is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

After the fight, Slade Lassiter was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

A quick step to the side and Fernando tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Lassiter throws a series of punches but Fernando moves out of range. Lassiter misses with an uppercut. Fernando scores with a hook.#CUT# It looks like Slade Lassiter has been cut. Lassiter takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Fernando takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Lassiter blocks a low kick nicely. Lassiter appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Fernando scores with a body shot.

Lassiter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fernando. And Lassiter responds with a good body kick, but Fernando manages to step out the way in time. Fernando will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Fernando connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lassiter momentarily.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Lassiter might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Fernando has got the better of the exchanges. Fernando avoids the body shot from Lassiter.

The fighters circling - Lassiter throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lassiter avoids the body shot from Fernando.
Fernando moves out of range of the strikes. Fernando throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lassiter sees it coming and avoids it easily. Lassiter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lassiter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fernando wants to slow Lassiter down by chopping away at his legs. Fernando throws the left hand but Lassiter avoids the punch easily.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Adolfo Fernando. Well Fernando has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... A nice leg kick lands there from Leonitis . Leonitis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Factory in the buildup to the fight. Leonitis takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Lassiter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Gonzalez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lassiter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#KD2# Lassiter feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gonzalez sprawling to the canvas! Gonzalez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lassiter finish him?!
#CUT2# It looks like Fernando Gonzalez has been cut. Lassiter lands a slapping body shot.
Gonzalez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#KD2# Lassiter cracks Gonzalez with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gonzalez looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lassiter finish him?
Lassiter drops Gonzalez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Lassiter follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
