#R1# Erl slips under a jab from Patton.#CL2# Erl moves into the clinch. Erl tries for a takedown but Patton manages to get underhooks.
Patton has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Erl after a bit of a struggle. Patton has had enough of the clinch but Erl keeps him there for the moment.#BC# Patton breaks from the clinch.
Erl changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Patton tries to avoid it but Erl manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Patton to the ground. Patton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Erl dives in and grabs Patton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Patton pushes down on Erl's head and hops out. Chaz Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Owin Erl. Erl fails miserably with a takedown attempt.#CL2# Erl moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Erl lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Patton backwards. #BC2# Erl breaks the clinch.
Patton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Erl. Erl fails with a takedown attempt. Erl looks more muscular than last time we saw him. Erl no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Erl manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Patton manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVB# Erl really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Patton wants to get back to his feet but Erl is in a dominant position and won't allow it. #SUB# Patton has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Erl is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Patton. Owin Erl showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! #R3##TD2# Erl shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Patton napping and manages to drive through into side control! Erl has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Patton! Erl controlling his opponent. Patton is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Erl tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Patton seems to have got his legs back now. Erl lands a big elbow. Erl takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. A nice elbow there by Erl. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Patton working to try and regain half guard.
