Horrible takedown attempt by Curry or perhaps it was just good defense by Gero, which made it look bad. #TD# Curry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gero looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gero struggling a bit here. Gero pushes Curry away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Curry gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gero is looking for a sweep. Check out the look on Curry's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Curry is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gero will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
