#R1# Ippo avoids the head kick by Nakai.
As Nakai looks to move away, Ippo throws a big counter combo but Nakai just gets out of the way. Nakai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A bone on bone clash there as Ippo blocks the leg kick.
Nakai throws a head kick that misses. Nakai throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Nakai tries a head kick but it misses.
Ippo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Nakai wants to slow Ippo down by chopping away at his legs. Ippo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nakais jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Nakai throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nakai tries a head kick but it misses.
Ippo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Ippo checks a leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ippo lands a jab to the nose. Ippo looks to land a right hand but Nakai moved out of range. Nakai takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
#ROC# Nakai is rocked! Ippo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nakai looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nakai is still on wobbly legs! Can Ippo finish him? Ippo lands a nice hook to Nakai's body. Nakai takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nakai looks winded! Ippo steps in with a hook that catches Nakai right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Ippo follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Nakai looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Makunouchi Ippo!

#R1# A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miyazaki. Miyazaki takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Miyazaki takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Miyazaki avoids a punch combination nicely.
#TD# Miyazaki drives through with a takedown into Ippo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Ippo is looking to stand back up but Miyazaki counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ippo. Ippo strikes from the bottom but Miyazaki passes into mount!
Miyazaki with good strikes from the mount here! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ippo really wants to buck Miyazaki off and get back to his feet. Ippo throws a strike but has given up his back in the process.
Will Miyazaki go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
#T1# Miyazaki controls the position.#SUB# Ippo preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Miyazaki. Ippo is trying to stand back up. Miyazaki slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
#T2# Ippo is trying to stand back up. Miyazaki biding his time, looking for the opening.
Miyazaki tries to keep control of the position but Ippo is staying busy. Ippo wants to get back to his feet. #SUB# Ippo is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and Miyazaki manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! Ippo is in trouble and he's forced to tap!

#R1# Ippo thows a left - swing and a miss! Streets shoots for a takedown but Ippo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Streets fails with a takedown attempt. Streets keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ippo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ippo throws an overhand right that lands on Streets's shoulder, as Streets tries to avoid the shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Ippo. Streets does a little dance to reset his feet. Streets lands with a slapping head kick. Ippo throws a jab but it's blocked by Streets. Ippo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Makunouchi Ippo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ippo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ippo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ippo lands a jab to Streets's midsection. Ippo closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Streets! Ippo dives in looking to finish! Streets is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
