#R1# Martial shoots and misses #TD# so Caldwell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Martial looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!#SU# Caldwell stands and steps away. Martial gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Caldwell throws a right and a left that Martial avoids nicely. Martial gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #CL# and Caldwell counters by moving into the clinch. #BC# Caldwell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Caldwell. Martial is working to avoid the ground and pound but Caldwell connects with a decent elbow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Caldwell just content to control the position. Caldwell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Martial for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caldwell scores with a couple of short elbows. Martial is letting Caldwell control him for a moment. Caldwell scoring with punches and elbows. #T1# Caldwell just content to control the position. #SUB# Caldwell has an Americana. Martial didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Caldwell is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Caldwell hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Donovan Caldwell!
