Monson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fonseca is out of range. Fonseca moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Nice body punch from Monson. Fonseca connects with a nice looking jab.
Crunch! Monson slams his shin into Fonseca's torso. Monson throws a body punch but Fonseca moves out of range. Fonseca was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Fonseca avoids the head kick by Monson.

Hammar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Monson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Monson, as that shot connected.

Monson feinted with a counter takedown. Monson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. A solid leg kick lands there for Monson.
Grant fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Monson throws a sloppy head kick and Grant moves out of range easily. No joy there for Grant, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

#R1# Monson thumps Licinius with a low kick. Monson delivers a nice body kick. Monson thuds his shin into the meat of Licinius's side. Monson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Monson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Monson lands an overhand right. Licinius connects with a body shot. Monson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Licinius. Licinius chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Monson can pounce on him.
Monson throws a nice inside leg kick. Licinius is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Monson. Licinius stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Monson. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Licinius on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Monson. Monson obviously looking to wear him down.
Good leg kick by Monson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
#T1# Licinius steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Monson. That one must have hurt. Licinius stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Licinius wants it to stay on the feet. Licinius now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Licinius takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Marcus Licinius is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Licinius crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Monson - the referee stops the clock and Licinius gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Monson. Licinius manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.#TD# Monson shoots in and bounces Licinius off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Monson won't allow Licinius to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#ES2# Licinius scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Khabilov avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Khabilov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Monson. Khabilov misses with a left hand and Monson counters with a low kick, right behind Khabilov 's knee. Monson throws a body kick that misses. Khabilov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.#TD# Khabilov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Monson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Khabilov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Khabilov misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Monson can't do much from the bottom here. Khabilov grinds an elbow into Monson's temple. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Khabilov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Monson down.
