#R1# Nurmagomedov tries for a takedown but Vitali circles away easily and Vitali connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#TD# Nurmagomedov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vitali quickly recovers to half guard. Nurmagomedov stalling. Vitali looks winded! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nurmagomedov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. #T1# Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nurmagomedov in particular looking to stall. Nurmagomedov working Vitali over with strikes. Nurmagomedov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Vitali avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nurmagomedov not doing much here.

Nurmagomedov looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Nurmagomedov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Nurmagomedov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. This is a sustained period of stalling by Nurmagomedov.#T3##REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nurmagomedov dives in and grabs Vitali's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vitali pushes down on Nurmagomedov's head and hops out. Vitali is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Nurmagomedov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vitali defends well and Nurmagomedov ends up having to push Vitali into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Vitali throws a counter combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khabiba Nurmagomedov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nurmagomedov shoots in for a double leg but Vitali sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vitali lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Nurmagomedov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vitali tries to avoid it but Nurmagomedov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vitali to the ground. Vitali escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. As Nurmagomedov backs off Vitali throws a huge counter combo but Nurmagomedov manages to avoid it all. Nurmagomedov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vitali as he jumps to the side. Nurmagomedov misses with a kick to the body.

Nurmagomedov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Vitali has hold of Nurmagomedov's hands but Nurmagomedov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
