Aldo tries to clinch enabling Matonen to counter with a crisp jab. Nice uppercut there from Matonen. Aldo tries to clinch but fails miserably and Matonen counters with a straight right hand. Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#KD2# Oooh a lovely combination from Matonen sends Aldo down but not out. Matonen dives into side control looking to finish. #CUT2# It looks like Jose Aldo has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Aldo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Aldo seems a little lost for a moment, as Matonen dominates the positioning. Matonen working away. We've been hearing good reports from Aldo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Aldo tries for a takedown but Blaze sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Aldo throws a leg kick that is checked and Blaze cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Blaze keeps the fight on the outside. A punch combination from Aldo misses. Aldo tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Blaze counters with a lovely shot to the body. Aldo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Blaze counters with a right hand to the body. #T1# Aldo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

And Aldo tries to counter it with a takedown but Qwe pushes his down on his head and steps out. No joy there for Aldo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Aldo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Qwe's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Aldo falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Drysdale has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.#SU2# Drysdale is working an open guard so Aldo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aldo tries to clinch up but Drysdale circles away and keeps his distance. Drysdale ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aldo moves away. Aldo fails with a takedown attempt.#T1# A left lands for Drysdale. Aldo slips under a jab. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aldo wants it to stay on the feet. Aldo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
