#R1# Romero swings for the body but Cook moves out of range.
Romero with a lazy takedown attempt and Cook connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Cook lands a jab to the nose. Joel Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romero tries a head kick but it misses.
Cook uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Romero throws a head kick that misses. A countering left hand to the body from Cook misses. Romero throws a combination that misses enabling Cook to counter with a crisp jab. Romero takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Romero tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cook defends well and Romero ends up having to push Cook into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Cook goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cook ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Cook connects with a body shot that sends Romero's belly button to the back. No joy there for Cook, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

#TD# Romero shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cook's guard. Romero is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Romero prevents Cook from getting back to his feet. Cook keeping full guard, as Romero tries to pass. Cook wants to stand but Romero is controlling the position. #ES2# Cook uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Romero throws a body punch but Cook moves out of range. #TD# Romero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Romero lands in his opponent's guard. Romero stops Cook from standing up. #T2# Romero missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. #SU# Cook is working an open guard so Romero takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#TD# Romero scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Romero taking a breather here. Cook is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Romero asserts his dominance and retains side control.#SUB# Romero has an Americana. Cook didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Romero is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Romero hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

#R1# Cook lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bone has his takedown stuffed and Cook makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Bone gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Cook counters with a nice uppercut. Bone with a lazy takedown attempt and Cook counters with a stiff right hand. Phil Cook has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Bone. Bone doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cook counters with a three punch combo that has Bone backing up. Bone nods at Cook to acknowledge the strikes. Bone is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cook sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. As Bone looks to move away, Cook throws a big counter combo but Bone just gets out of the way. Good shot there by Cook. Bone misses with a takedown and Cook counters with a straight right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#TD2# Cook gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.#ES# Cook manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Cook will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
#T1# Bone moves forwards but Cook connects with a nice, crisp jab. Bone shoots for a takedown but Cook saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cook fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cook darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Bone is still on wobbly legs! Can Cook finish him? Cook lands a nice shot to the body.
Bone seems to have recovered his senses. A left lands for Cook. Bone dives in and grabs Cook's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cook pushes down on Bone's head and hops out. Bone takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Cook works over Bone's head and body with a nice combination. Cook connects with a jab. Cook with a nice cross. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bone has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Bone fails with the takedown and Cook counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bone thinking. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's going to take a lot out of Sam Bone. Horrible takedown attempt by Bone or perhaps it was just good defense by Cook, which made it look bad. Cook tries to bum rush Bone with a series of wild strikes but Bone uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bone is defended easily by Cook. Cook went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Bone is breathing heavily. Bone fails with the takedown and Cook counters with a straight right hand. Bone with a poor takedown and Cook counters with a nice body shot. Bone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cook as he jumps to the side. #T2# Cook lands a jab to the head.
