Wasa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jones has time to react. Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. An attempted straight right counter from Wasa misses the target. Jones blocks a head kick by Wasa.

Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Anthony Pettis (ranked 1956 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah Jones (ranked 3036 p4p, 146 weight class). Jones has chosen Barrels of Whiskey as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 8 losses; Anthony Pettis! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Noah Jones! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Jones fails to land the takedown. Pettis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pettis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. #CL# Franco clinches up against the cage.#TD2# Jones has clasped his hands together around Franco's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The referee asks Jones politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jones prefers to stall for the moment though. Jones lands a decent elbow from side control. Franco has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Franco throws a few strikes from the bottom but Jones takes advantage and mounts! Jones working away from the top, dropping strikes. Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Franco flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

The Crab scores with a punch to the head. Jones with a poor takedown and The Crab counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by The Crab. Henry The Crab has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noah Jones. Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown letting The Crab counter with a right hand. Jones takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Wawelski has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jones gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wawelski. Jones shoots for a takedown but Wawelski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wawelski misses with the combination.

Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Matsunaga walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Matsunaga swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. That looked like it hurt. Penn has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Penn closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Jones out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.#TD# Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Balls napping and manages to drive through into side control! Balls tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position. Jones cracks Balls with an elbow. That is naaassty. You can see the frustration on Balls's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jones is chipping away with strikes.

Cruz wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. Cruz keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones cracks Cruz with a solid left hand. Cruz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. #SUB# Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

It looked like Pridham was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.#CL# Jones gets tackled into the cage by Pridham. Pridham maintains the clinch. Jones is looking to take this one to the mat. Jonathan Pridham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noah Jones.
