#R1##CL2# Novakk closes the distance and pushes Riggs back into the cage. Novakk tries to score a body lock takedown but Riggs shows good agility there to stay on his feet.#BC2# Novakk manages to break the clinch.
A slow jab from Novakk misses its intended target. Riggs seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Riggs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Novakk swivels and escapes.#CL2# Novakk moves into range and clinches up with Riggs.#BC2# Novakk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.#CL2# Novakk gets a clinch. #TD# Riggs pulls guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Riggs throws a couple of heel strikes.
Riggs seems keen to control Novakk's posture. Novakk looking to control the position here, rather than advance. #SUB# Riggs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Novakk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. #T1# Novakk trying to control the position from guard on top but Riggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Novakk won't allow Riggs to get back to his feet. Novakk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Riggs is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Riggs is trying to keep Novakk in close.

Riggs pulls Novakk in close to his closed guard and prevents Novakk from doing any damage or advancing position.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Novakk postures up.
Novakk being controlled here momentarily. Novakk trying to control but Riggs is working from the bottom. Novakk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #T4# Novakk fails with the takedown. Patricia Riggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Novakk. Riggs throws a wild body kick that Novakk sees coming a mile off. Riggs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Novakk scores with a punch to the head. Novakk fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Riggs manages to avoid it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Riggs tries to clinch but Novakk is having none of it. Novakk throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riggs sees it coming and avoids it easily. And Riggs counters with a quick kick to the body but Novakk blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riggs appears to be looking for a big counter. Novakk tries to bum rush Riggs with a series of wild strikes but Riggs uses good footwork to avoid the assault. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Danga de danga de dang - Novakk scores with a four punch combination! and Riggs counters with a one-two to the body. #CL2# Novakk rushes Riggs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Novakk drops down looking for an ankle pick but Riggs pulls his leg out and moves away.

Novakk is breathing heavily.#CL2# The fight moves into the clinch position.#TD# Riggs ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Riggs no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Novakk wants to control from the top but Riggs keeps moving. Riggs is adopting a defensive guard.#T2##SUB# The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Riggs has his foot on Novakk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Novakk works his way back into a safe position though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Novakk distracts Riggs with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.#SUB# Riggs has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Novakk doesn't defend quickly enough and Riggs has managed to lock this one up! Can Novakk escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Riggs on a fantastic submission victory.
