Armstrong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Armstrong slips a nice elbow through MacNeill's hands, connecting with MacNeill's forehead. MacNeill wants to improve his position but Armstrong is controlling well.
Armstrong with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Armstrong seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down MacNeill for as long as he can get away with. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. MacNeill is trying to stand up here but Armstrong is controlling him well. #T1# Armstrong thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Armstrong really is a fat lump.#SUB2# Uszatov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Uszatov looking to control but instead Armstrong has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Armstrong works his way to full guard. Good work. Armstrong keeping moving, preventing Uszatov from controlling successfully. Armstrong working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uszatov wants to control from the top but Armstrong keeps moving. Bragin wants to control for a moment but Armstrong uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Bragin stalling away here and it's allowed Armstrong to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Armstrong is adopting a defensive guard. Bragin content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bragin wants to pass the guard but Armstrong is keeping the position.#T1# Armstrong wants to sweep but no luck. Armstrong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Armstrong has a closed guard, preventing Bragin from standing up. Armstrong being controlled here, momentarily. Bragin postures up in Armstrong's guard and throws a big left but Armstrong blocks it. Armstrong is trying to pull guard but Repenko has him pressed against the cage. Armstrong drops down looking for an ankle pick but Repenko pulls his leg out and moves away.
