#R1# Hauraki fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hauraki throws a nice looking combination but Faber bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice takedown defense from Hauraki. No joy for Faber on that attempt. It looked like Hauraki was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Hauraki throws a right and a left that both miss.#TD2# Hauraki gets caught flat footed, as Faber shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Faber looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Faber controls the pace of the fight for a moment.#SUB2# Faber drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Faber jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hauraki is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Faber pushes down on Hauraki's leg and manages to get into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Faber stalling. Faber has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. #T1# Hauraki is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Faber has taken his back.
#SUB2# Faber patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?#SUB2# Faber is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Hauraki has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Faber has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Hauraki taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Faber doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Uriah Faber! Uriah Faber took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.

#R1# Jones misses with a combination
enabling Hauraki to counter with a crisp jab. Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Hauraki tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hauraki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #CL2# Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch. #TD# Hauraki jumps guard.
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones wants to get up but he can't break Hauraki's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hauraki has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. #T1# Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. #SUB# Hauraki looking for a triangle here. Jones is fighting it but it looks tight! Hauraki pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jones is tapping out - this one is all over!
