#R1# Melo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.#CL# Melo instigates a clinch. Melo is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Herzog is defending well.#TD# Melo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Herzog uses from the top position. Herzog passes Melo's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Herzog with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Herzog tries to pass the half guard into mount. Melo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Melo is pressing down on Herzog's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Melo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Herzog controls the pace of the fight for a moment.#T1# Herzog's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Herzog preventing the sweep. #SUB2# Herzog thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Herzog stands and throws Melo's legs to the side, diving into side control. #SUB2# Herzog tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SUB2# Herzog is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Melo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #T2# Herzog moves into full mount! #SUB2# Herzog working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. This has been an exciting period of action! Herzog takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.#T3##SUB2# Herzog is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Herzog!
