#R1# Hyde gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ahearn.#CUT# It looks like Mister Hyde has been cut. Hyde looks to land a left hand but Ahearn moved out of range nicely. Ahearn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hyde in his tracks. Ahearn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hyde. Ahearn wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Hyde tried to score with a low kick but Ahearn checks it. Ahearn scores with a nice strike. Ahearn takes a swing at Hyde's ribcage but misses. Ahearn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ahearn dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hyde tries for a takedown but Ahearn circles away easily and Ahearn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.#CUT# That has opened up Mister Hyde's cut even more. An inside leg kick from Hyde misses. #T1# Hyde thows a leg kick but Ahearn checks it and Ahearn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hyde shoots in looking for a takedown. Ahearn tries to sprawl out of it but Hyde keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ahearn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ahearn throwing a counter right hand but Hyde manages to avoid it. Ahearn fakes the body blow, causing Hyde to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Hyde goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Ahearn! James Ahearn is the new super heavyweight champion! James Ahearn was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

#R1##TD2# Singleton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.#SUB2# Hyde postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Singleton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hyde, into his guard. #REVR# Singleton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Singleton throwing strikes but missing. Hyde is trying to hold Singleton in close to prevent damage but Singleton has managed to pass into half guard.
Singleton wants to stand up but Hyde is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Hyde actively working from the bottom here. Hyde wants to improve his position but Singleton is controlling well.
#T1##SUB2# Hyde is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Singleton pulls his head out easily. Hyde regains full guard. Nicely done. #SUB2# Hyde is looking to cinch up a triangle. Singleton throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hyde's body to avoid the submission. Hyde has instead reached around Singleton's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hyde arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
