#R1##TD2# Michael shoots in and bounces Oneil off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Michael throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oneil works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Michael throwing strikes but missing. Michael forces his way into half guard. Michael tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Oneil. Oneil is trying is best to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Michael scoring with strikes to the body and head. Michael with the ground and pound but Oneil uses the opportunity to regain guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oneil trying to strike off his back.
Oneil keeping moving, preventing Michael from controlling successfully. Michael loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Michael sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Oneil's guard. Michael has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Michael is looking to stall here but Oneil recovers full guard. Oneil could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Oneil has Michael pulled in close to control his posture. #T2# Oneil has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Michael with a flurry of punches that miss. Michael throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Michael being controlled here momentarily. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Michael lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Oneil backs up against the cage.
#CUT2# It looks like Cary Oneil has been cut. Michael closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Oneil! Michael dives in looking to finish! Oneil is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
