#R1# Ripper tries to clinch but Sobolik is having none of it. Sobolik looks to land a right hand but Ripper moved out of range. Sobolik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ripper was well out of range. Poor timing from Sobolik. The fight stays on the outside here - Ripper looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sobolik throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ripper tries to clinch there but Sobolik circles away.

Alexej Sobolik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sobolik misses with a straight right. Ripper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Sobolik works Ripper's body with a nice hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sobolik smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Sobolik works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Ripper throws a series of strikes that have Sobolik backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sobolik comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Ripper throws a head kick that misses. Ripper bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Sobolik bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.#T1# Sobolik misses with a wild body shot. Sobolik throws out a loose jab but Ripper uses good head movement to avoid it. Ripper doesn't manage to clinch there - Sobolik circles away.
Sobolik is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Ripper tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Sobolik manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Sobolik swinging wildly here.

The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ripper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sobolik pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sobolik uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ripper has time to react.#KD# Ripper scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Sobolik to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A jab from Sobolik misses. Ripper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Sobolik paws at him with a jab and circles away.#T2# Ripper walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Sobolik connects with the punch. Sobolik swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Sobolik. That snapped Ripper's head back.
Ripper moves in looking to clinch but Sobolik pushes him off. Ripper wants to clinch. Sobolik looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Sobolik takes one on the button. Sobolik works over Ripper's head and body with a nice combination. Ripper takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Sobolik misses the jab. Sobolik scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sobolik connects with a jab. Ripper throws a nice outside leg kick. Ripper connects with the punch. Ripper lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Ripper tries to close the distance and clinch but Sobolik swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Deno Ripper should take that round, based on the knockdown. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. #R2# Sobolik lands a jab. Ripper cracks the inside of Sobolik's front leg. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jab by Sobolik. Sobolik lands a jab to Ripper's midsection. Sobolik thuds his right hand into Ripper's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Sobolik circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ripper blocks a jab. Sobolik uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ripper has time to react. Ripper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sobolik.
Sobolik swats away the attempt to clinch by Ripper. Sobolik lands with an uppercut that bounces Ripper off the ropes and back into range. Deno Ripper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A head kick from Ripper lands but Sobolik takes it in his stride. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ripper steps in and throws a big head kick that drops Sobolik to the mat! Sobolik looks in trouble, can he beat the count? Ripper is bouncing in a neutral corner joining in with the referee '4,5,6' they both chant. 7,8,9... he's not going to make it! 10! He's out! Ripper jumps onto the ropes and takes in the acclaim from the crowd!

#R1# Sobolik lands with a nice combination. Monster backs away looking to recover. Monster takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Monster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sobolik.

Sobolik dips to his left and cracks Monster with an uppercut! Sobolik swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
#TD2# and Monster counters with a nice double leg into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#SUB2# Monster drops back looking for a leg! Sobolik is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sobolik manages to kick Monster off! Monster jumps back into Sobolik's guard. Monster is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Monster showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Sobolik wants to get back to his feet but Monster is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Monster is working Sobolik over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Monster slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Sobolik has momentary wrist control but Monster slips an elbow through the middle. Monster controls the pace of the fight for a moment. My spies in Arm Breakers/BJJ inform me that Monster has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Sobolik wants to stand and escape but Monster is having none of it. #T1# Monster engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Monster is in close to Sobolik's body, working some short punches and elbows. Monster pushing down on Sobolik's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Monster controlling the pace. Monster passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sobolik! Monster controlling the pace for now. Monster working away from the top, dropping strikes. Sobolik taking shots to the head. Monster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. #T2# Sobolik tries to buck Monster off but he can't manage it. Monster connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Monster postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Sobolik badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Monster around the waist but Monster pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Monster is the winner by TKO! Monster jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
