#R1# Bates shoots in but no luck this time. #TD2# Chivers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bates's half guard. Chivers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bates's head. Chivers prevents Bates from improving his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Chivers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bates defends it well. Chivers performing his best blanket impression for a moment. #T1# Let's hope that Chivers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bates is looking to improve his position.

Chivers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bates wants to improve his position but Chivers is controlling well.
And that's the end of the fight! Richard Chivers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Chivers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Bates is thwarting Sobaka's attempts to control the position. Sobaka gets full guard. Sobaka has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bates is trying to escape the position but Mendes is controlling the position. Bates is looking to regain half guard here but Mendes keeps moving and retains side control. Mendes landing strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bates is trying to improve his position. Bates on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Mendes working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Bates tries to score with some ground and pound. Quintana controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Quintana can't do much from the bottom here. Quintana is not in a great position here, taking some shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bates working the ground and pound but Quintana is defending the strikes. Quintana is trying to control Bates's posture but Bates avoids it. #T1# Bates working the strikes but Quintana uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Quintana regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bates. Quintana is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bates throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Quintana works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bates postures up.
