Crosby wants to break free but Dos has control.
Crosby wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Crosby creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Dos tries to work over Crosby's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dos's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Dos blocks the elbow strike.
#TD# Crosby gets control of Dos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Crosby will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB# Crosby is looking for a triangle but Dos pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crosby is keeping the position for now. Welcher controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like Welcher might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Welcher wants to free his trapped foot but Crosby is holding on for dear life with his legs. Welcher performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Crosby looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Welcher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Welcher trying to control the pace. #T1# Welcher's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. As Cole tries to get set, Crosby tries to push him back and clinch up but Cole manages to avoid the attempt.#TD2# Cole shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crosby's guard. Crosby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cole controls from within his opponent's guard. #SUB# Crosby looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cole has picked Crosby up and slammed him! Crosby can't keep hold of the triangle and Cole manages to pass to side control!#SUB2# Cole thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Cole lands a decent elbow from side control. Cole has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cole wants to stand but Crosby is controlling his arm. #R1# Pitt tests Crosby's chin there with a solid looking shot. Pitt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Crosby. Crosby seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Crosby shoots and misses and Pitt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Crosby tries for a takedown but Pitt circles away easily and Pitt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Crosby with a poor takedown and Pitt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Crosby. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pitt looks to land a combination but Crosby avoids it well. Crosby gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pitt counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pitt is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
