I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Joey Simone was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Machida takes a step backwards and waves Opstad back to his feet - he wants the finish!#ROC# Opstad is rocked!#CUT# It looks like Leon Opstad has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#KD# Machida feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Opstad sprawling to the canvas! Opstad rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Machida finish him?!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Opstad has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.#TD2# Opstad manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dock on his heels.
