Gonza seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Gamztkhanov takes one on the chin but seems OK.
#CUT# It looks like Magomedkhan Gamztkhanov has been cut. Gonza throws an overhand right that drops Gamztkhanov like a sack of potatoes! Gonza dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Burnside has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Burnside moves out of range as Gamztkhanov strikes. Burnside misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Burnside moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Gamztkhanov tries to clinch but fails miserably and Burnside counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Burnside misses with a two punch combination.

Wallace tries to break free but Gamztkhanov pushes him back against the cage. Wallace is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gamztkhanov falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! McBreezer smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Gamztkhanov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Biante counters with a body kick that stops Gamztkhanov in his tracks momentarily. Gamztkhanov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gamztkhanov dives in for a single leg takedown but Biante sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bruce Biante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magomedkhan Gamztkhanov. Gamztkhanov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Biante counter with a right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gamztkhanov shoots in looking for a takedown but Biante manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gamztkhanov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Biante half committed to a counter leg kick.#TD2# Gamztkhanov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Biante did well to prevent Gamztkhanov getting side control.
