#R1# Peters gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Shabott. Horrible takedown attempt by Shabott or perhaps it was just good defense by Peters, which made it look bad. Peters fires out a quick counter leg kick but Shabott just manages to avoid it.#CL2# Shabott has closed the distance and engaged Peters in a clinch.
Shabott drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Peters gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Shabott gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Peters.
#TD2# Shabott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shabott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shabott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Shabott throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. #T1# Shabott throwing shots but Peters is blocking nicely. Shabott wants to stand but Peters has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Shabott not landing any meaningful shots this time. Shabott trying to control the pace. Peters blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shabott. Peters is not content to let Shabott control the position. Shabott tries to stand but his arm is trapped. #T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Peters is not content to let Shabott control the position. Shabott prevents Peters from improving his position. Shabott is trying to control the action in half guard but Peters is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#T3# Shabott darts in looking for a takedown but Peters gets double underhooks and turns Shabott into the cage. Alan Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shabazz Shabott. Shabott plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!#TD# Peters looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Shabott! You can see the frustration on Shabott's face as Peters controls the position. Shabott is trying to improve his position. Peters working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peters lands a nice forearm strike. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Peters trying to control the action but Shabott is working from the bottom. Shabott is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Peters off and has taken his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shabazz Shabott dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Shabott blocks a head kick by Peters.
Shabazz Shabott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peters takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Shabott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peters paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shabott tries to clinch #TD# and Peters counters with a nice double leg into guard. Shabott throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Peters scoring with some ground and pound. Shabott trying to control the position.
Shabott has momentary wrist control but Peters slips an elbow through the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peters working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Shabott is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Peters's corner. There ya go! There ya go! #T1# Shabott trying to control the position.
Peters controls from within his opponent's guard. #SUB# Peters drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shabott looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shabott looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shabott! #REVB# Shabott wants to stand but Peters has his arm trapped. #T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shabott scores with punches from side control. Peters is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shabott off and has taken his back! Peters scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Shabott is looking for a way out. Shabott rolls, trying to escape but Peters keeps control of the position.
Peters controlling the position well here. Shabott rolled but Peters kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Shabott manages to reverse the position and now he's in Peters's guard. Nice work there by Shabott.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters wants to sweep but no luck. Peters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Peters tries to get out of the position. Peters is adopting a defensive guard. Shabott trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Peters has control of Shabott's left arm, preventing Shabott from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shabott manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peters manages to get himself to full guard.

Peters looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. #SUB2# Shabott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shabott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. #T3# Shabott wants to control from the top but Peters keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peters has a closed guard, preventing Shabott from standing up. Alan Peters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shabott trying to control but Peters is working from the bottom. Peters wants to sweep but no luck. #T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Shabott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peters swats him away and circles back towards the center. Shabott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Peters circles away. Peters attempts a counter takedown but Shabott avoids it well and moves away. Shabott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shabott looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peters is fending him off so far but Shabott persists. Nope, Peters circles away and we're back to standing.#TD# Peters feints and as Shabott raises his hands in defense, Peters changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Shabott working a defensive guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Peters wants to control from the top but Shabott keeps moving. #SUB2# Shabott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alan Peters. I think Peters has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
