Portis misses with a series of wild punches.
Apple tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Apple doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Portis. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Portis.#CUT#
It looks like Brian Apple has been cut.

Apple doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Portis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Apple thinking.
We've been told by Portis's head coaches at Fight Club FC that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#KD#
Portis feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Apple sprawling to the canvas! Apple rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Portis finish him?! #ROC#

Apple tries to get into range but Portis steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Apple! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Portis scores the big KO victory!

In his post fight interview, Jackson Portis started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

A very excited looking C K Cbomb made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Peterson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Apple closes the distance and clinches up with Peterson, looking for a takedown. Apple pushes Peterson against the cage but Peterson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Apple has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.#CL#

Apple jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peterson walks away with a smile on his face. Apple gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Peterson cracks Apple with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Apple tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Peterson pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Apple is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

As Apple looks to move away, Sears throws a big counter combo but Apple just gets out of the way.#TD2#
Apple shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sears's guard.
Apple not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
