Patrick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smirnov tries to avoid it but Patrick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smirnov to the ground. Smirnov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gates lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Patrick quite badly. Patrick pulls Gates in close trying to recover. Gates postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Patrick on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Patrick doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
