#R1# Davis tries for a takedown but Nicholson circles away easily and Nicholson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Davis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nicholson connects with a body shot that sends Davis's belly button to the back. Nicholson moves out of range of the strikes. Robert Nicholson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Nicholson , looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Nicholson against the cage but Nicholson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Robert Nicholson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Davis. Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Nicholson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Davis misses with a takedown attempt and Nicholson counters with a stiff right hand. Davis takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Davis avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A left and a right from Nicholson both land. Nice combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davis is defended easily by Nicholson . Nicholson scores with a sloppy right hand. Davis should have avoided that one. #T1# Nicholson works the jab nicely. Nicholson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
#ROC# Davis is rocked! Davis looks for a takedown but Nicholson sprawls well. Davis has a takedown stuffed. Davis moves forwards but Nicholson connects with a nice, crisp jab.#KD# Nicholson cracks Davis with a big right hand and Davis goes down! Davis is still in real trouble! Can Nicholson finish him? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Nicholson 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nicholson distracts Davis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.#SUB2# Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Davis looks winded! Nicholson postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Davis's head off the mat! Davis is out! He's out! Nicholson jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Robert Nicholson ! Robert Nicholson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Page throws a counter high kick but Nicholson was just alert enough to avoid it.#CL# Page fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nicholson , pushing him back against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nicholson . Page landing knees to the head.
Nicholson has a couple of punches blocked by Page.
Page gets underhooks to prevent Nicholson 's takedown attempt.

Nicholson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nicholson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Nicholson working aggressively here.

Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

#R1# Meechum uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nicholson . Nicholson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meechum sprawls well. Meechum wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nicholson gets slowly back to his feet. Nicholson misses with a straight right. Nicholson connects with a single shot there.#CUT2# It looks like Danny Meechum has been cut. Nicholson drops Meechum with a naaaaasty hook - Meechum is in real trouble here! Nicholson dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
