Renton throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Frank Hughes has been cut.
Hughes wants to clinch up but Renton keeps it at a distance.
Renton is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hughes with a body shot.
Renton misses the shot to the body.
Hughes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Renton swivels and escapes.
Renton blocks a head kick by Hughes.
Renton stuns Hughes with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hughes takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Renton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Renton can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hughes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Renton counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Hughes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hughes drops his hands momentarily. Renton doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Hughes staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Hughes doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
