I was talking to Halaptung's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Halaptung lands a knee to the body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Supertuk Halaptung! A very excited looking Supertuk Halaptung rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

#R1# Halaptung uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dinnis. Halaptung scores with a nice strike. Dinnis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Halaptung looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Halaptung throws a body punch but Dinnis moves out of range. Dinnis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Halaptung lands a leg kick that knocks Dinnis off balance momentarily. Dinnis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. We've been told by Halaptung's head coaches at Eli7e that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A jab from Dinnis misses. Halaptung throws a hook but Dinnis blocks it. Dinnis changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dinnis doesn't succeed with the takedown and Halaptung counters with a straight right hand. Nice shot by Halaptung. Halaptung scores with a jab to the head.
Halaptung stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Halaptung wants it to stay on the feet. Supertuk Halaptung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dillaan Dinnis.#T1# Dinnis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Halaptung circles away. Dinnis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. Halaptung defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. #T6# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dinnis misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
BOOM! Dinnis connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dinnis prevents Halaptung from getting the reversal. Dinnis lands with some strikes. Dinnis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. We've been informed that Dinnis has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Halaptung is bucking up trying to escape but Dinnis cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Dinnis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Halaptung is looking to escape. Dinnis controlling the pace for now. Halaptung can't escape the position.
