#R1# Left hook, right uppercut from Kai. #CUT2# It looks like Michael Scott has been cut. Kai throws a body punch but Scott moves out of range. Kai swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Scott. Kai lands a slapping body shot.
Kai feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Scott's calf. Kai thows a body kick. Scott tries to catch it but that hurt him. Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kai swats him away and circles back towards the center. Scott with a lazy takedown attempt #CL2# and Kai counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kai lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Kai leaning against his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scott's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Scott shoots in looking for a takedown. Suleyman tries to sprawl out of it but Scott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Suleyman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Scott closes the distance but Suleyman moves to the side and Scott takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #CUT2# It looks like Michael Scott has been cut. Scott fails to land the takedown. Suleyman flicks out a counter leg kick but Scott steps away. Scott looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Suleyman lands a leg kick that knocks Scott off balance momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott moves out of range of the strikes. Scott fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Suleyman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Scott with a body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Scott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suleyman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Suleyman connects with a body shot that sends Scott's belly button to the back. Scott tries to clinch up. Suleyman lands a jab-cross combination. #R1# Two takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Two shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense. As Two looks to move away, Scott throws a big counter combo but Two just gets out of the way. Two takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.#CUT# It looks like Test Two has been cut. Test Two seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Two moves in looking to clinch but Scott pushes him off.#CL2# Two has closed the distance and engaged Scott in a clinch.
Two tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Scott smiles and moves away.
#CL2# Two instigates a clinch. Two is trying to pull guard but Scott turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Michael Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We've been hearing good reports from Scott's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Opstad defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Scott. Scott leaves Opstad with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Scott lands a jab to the nose. Scott displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Opstad throws out the jab. Scott throws out a counter right but Opstad avoids it with no problem. We've been told by Jones 's head coaches at The Performance Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
