Goro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bockert manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.#CL2# Goro gets a clinch. Goro scores with a shot to the side of Bockert's head. Goro lands a right hand. Bockert is looking to take this one to the mat. Goro scores with a shot to the side of Bockert's head. Lowell Bockert was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

#R1# Stewart tries to clinch but Bockert is having none of it. #TD2# Bockert changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stewart looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Stewart tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bockert wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. A big shot lands for Bockert! That's hurt Stewart! Will he recover? Bockert fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lowell Bockert! Lowell Bockert is the new super heavyweight champion! A very excited looking Lowell Bockert rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

#R1# Partner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bockert circles away quickly and effectively. We've been hearing reports that Bockert has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Partner swinging wildly here.
Partner throws a right and a left that both miss. Bockert slips a jab and a cross from Partner.
Partner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bockert paws at him with a jab and circles away.#TD# Bockert drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bockert is in close to Partner's body, working some short punches and elbows.#CUT# It looks like Sparring Partner has been cut. Bockert stands up over Partner, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. #ROC# Partner is rocked!#CUT# That has opened up Sparring Partner's cut even more. Bockert gets to his feet and stands over Partner, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Partner felt that one! Bockert unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Partner from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lowell Bockert! Lowell Bockert decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Mata connects with a single shot there. Mata scores with the left hand. Bockert knows he should have avoided that one. Good shot there by Mata. This has been an exciting period of action! Mata is looking to slow Bockert down with leg kicks. Mata scores with a decent looking hook. Mata has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Bockert closes the distance and clinches up with Mata, looking for a takedown. Bockert pushes Mata against the cage but Mata circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bockert is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mata sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mata plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Bockert to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Bockert just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Bockert tries for a takedown but Park circles away easily and Park counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lowell Bockert. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bockert is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bockert shoots and misses and Park counters with a good low kick that Bockert was not able to check. Bockert closes this distance looking for a takedown but Park circles away. Park tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.#T1# Bockert fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Park avoids it really well and circles away. Park throws a counter combo. Bockert with a poor takedown and Park counters with a right hand to the body. Bockert shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Park sprawls well. Park wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bockert gets slowly back to his feet. Alves looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Alves lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bockert's sensitive parts. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alves can't do much from the bottom here. Alves is trying to get back to half guard. Bockert is working away from the top position though. Bockert is pressing down on Sheppard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sheppard is holding on for now. Sheppard wants to get back to his feet.

After the fight, Lowell Bockert was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things.
