Majerus misses with a body kick. Majerus throws a head kick that misses. Birch doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Majerus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Majerus cracks Birch with an open hand slap. Edward Majerus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Majerus tries to clinch but Birch moves out of range. Lefebvre wants to control from the top but Birch keeps moving. Lefebvre is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Birch looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lefebvre is one step ahead there. Birch keeping full guard, as Lefebvre tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lefebvre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Birch controls Lefebvre momentarily but Lefebvre frees himself. Lefebvre looking to pass the guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.#T1# Lefebvre is stalling in the full guard.
