The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slater pushes Liang off looking to stand but Liang dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liang thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Liang slows the pace down in half guard. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

#R1# Pakiau lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slater circles away quickly and effectively. No joy there for Pakiau, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slater throws a sloppy head kick and Pakiau moves out of range easily. Pakiau is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Pakiau misses with a wild combination.
Pakiau scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Mani Pakiau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pakiau avoids the head kick by Slater.
Slater throws a sloppy head kick and Pakiau moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slater wants to land a leg kick but Pakiau is out of range. Pakiau wants to counter with a clinch but Slater pushes him away. Pakiau throws a shot to the body.

Slater really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pakiau throws a hook but Slater blocks it. Slater blocks a jab. Slater takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Pakiau lands with a nice body punch. Slater closes the distance and clinches up with Pakiau, looking for a takedown. Slater pushes Pakiau against the cage but Pakiau circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pakiau misses with the combination.

#BC# Slater pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pakiau rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slater moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pakiau scores with a jab to the jaw. Pakiau will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Slater went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Slater darts in looking for a takedown but Pakiau gets double underhooks and turns Slater into the cage. Pakiau is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Issac Slater. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pakiau scores with a shot to the body.
Slater is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pakiau.#ROC2# Slater is rocked! Slater is breathing heavily. Pakiau closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Slater! Pakiau dives in looking to finish! Slater is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

#R1# Gonjalez throws a lazy uppercut
and Slater counters with a big head kick but Gonjalez shrugs it off. Issac Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gonjalez misses with a two punch combination.
Slater throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Slater throws an off balance right hand
and Slater takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gonjalez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Slater. Nice body punch from Gonjalez. Slater shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Gonjalez throws a good cross that connects.
#ROC2# Slater is rocked! A head kick by Slater misses and Gonjalez counters with a crisp right that sends Slater to the canvas! Gonjalez follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
