Tambua throws the left hand but Wahrr avoids the punch easily. Wahrr appears to be looking for a counter takedown. A lazy left from Tambua finds it's target.#CUT2# It looks like Kooz Wahrr has been cut.#TD2# Tambua feints and as Wahrr raises his hands in defense, Tambua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wahrr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tambua is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. #R1# Tambua uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Minerva. Tambua slips a jab from Minerva. Minerva on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Scott Minerva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Minerva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tambua. An attempted straight right counter from Minerva misses the target. Minerva just misses with a punch to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Tambua throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Tambua has a takedown stuffed. Minerva throws a jab when Tambua was well out of range. Tambua gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A big right from Minerva misses. Tambua uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Minerva. Minerva misses with an uppercut. Tambua takes one to the chin there. Tambua shoots in for a takedown but Minerva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Minerva ducks under a wild hook from Tambua. A little feinted left hand from Minerva on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Minerva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Scott Minerva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mukinio Tambua. Minerva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tambua throws out the jab. Minerva is looking for a sweep. Tambua is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tambua working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Minerva's thigh. Minerva counters though and makes it back to full guard. Tambua trying to control the position from guard on top but Minerva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T3# Tambua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Minerva swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tambua trying to control but Minerva is working from the bottom. Tambua won't allow Minerva to sweep him here. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Minerva holds on and takes a little breather. #SUB2# Tambua postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Minerva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tambua, into his guard. #REVR# Tambua doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tambua is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Scott Minerva will probably get the nod. That's time! Minerva catches Tambua right on the button with a cross. Minerva throws a leg kick which misses Tambua's front leg but catches the back leg as Tambua tries to avoid it. Minerva pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tambua is out of range and Minerva settles back down. Minerva misses with a looping right. Minerva scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Tambua checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. It seemed like Tambua was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Tambua might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Tambua throws a lazy uppercut

And that's the end of the fight! Scott Minerva showed his dominance in that final round. Well Minerva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Tambua's coaches at NYC Striking Academy have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Tambua gets full guard. Honda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tambua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Honda advances position into side control! Tambua is looking for a sweep. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Honda working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
