Man appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.#TD2# Whitaker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Whitaker not doing much here.
Whitaker lands with a punch from half guard. Man has hold of Whitaker's hands but Whitaker slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Whitaker lands strikes from half guard.#SUB2# Whitaker maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Man could be in real trouble here! #R1# Pace shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. #TD2# Whitaker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pace is trying to defend but Whitaker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pace tries to kick Whitaker off but Whitaker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. #SUB2# Whitaker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Whitaker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Whitaker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pace controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Whitaker is nestled in close to Pace, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Whitaker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#T1##SUB2# Whitaker is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

#R1##CL2# The fight moves into the clinch position.#TD2# Whitaker jumps guard and drags Mclean to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Whitaker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mclean postures up.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#SU# Mclean gets to his feet. Whitaker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Whitaker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Whitaker stops Battle from standing up. Whitaker distracts Battle with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.#SUB2# Whitaker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Battle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Whitaker has Battle in his guard.#REVR# Whitaker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Battle is looking to work some ground and pound but Whitaker has wrist control.#SU# Battle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pernell Whitaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL2# Whitaker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Battle, pushing him back against the cage. #R1# Figueroa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Figueroa really is a fat lump. Figueroa throws a nice looking combination but Whitaker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Whitaker misses with a takedown attempt #TD# and Figueroa counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Figueroa is controlling the pace.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Figueroa is taking a breather. Whitaker says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Figueroa is thwarting Whitaker's attempts to control the position.#T1# Figueroa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Figueroa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Whitaker for as long as he can get away with.#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. That was a close second round but I would say that Les Figueroa will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! #R3# Whitaker has a takedown stuffed. Figueroa stands and throws Whitaker's legs to the side, diving into side control. Whitaker is trying to control Figueroa's posture but Figueroa avoids it. And that's the end of the fight! Les Figueroa showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Figueroa, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
