Dirksz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Yamamoto counters with a three punch combo that has Dirksz backing up. Dirksz nods at Yamamoto to acknowledge the strikes. Dirksz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dirksz misses with a takedown attempt and Dirksz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diomar Dirksz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dirksz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Diomar Dirksz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T3# Dirksz is looking to clinch. Yamamoto appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Dirksz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. He's got his arms around Yamamoto's waist but Yamamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dirksz off to one side. Dirksz looks to clinch and Yamamoto counters with a stiff right hand. Dirksz misses with a takedown attempt and Yamamoto counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Dirksz shoots in and drives through. Yamamoto sprawls well. A left and a right from Yamamoto both land. Nice combination. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yamamoto lands a right hook to the body.

Minoru Yamamoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dirksz shoots in but no luck this time. As Dirksz backs off Yamamoto throws a huge counter combo but Dirksz manages to avoid it all. Dirksz misses with a takedown and Yamamoto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yamamoto defends it nicely. Minoru Yamamoto seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dirksz fails in his attempt to clinch. Yamamoto is looking for the big counter here. Some wild striking there from Yamamoto.

Dirksz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Yamamoto trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dirksz's guard. Yamamoto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#SUB# Dirksz is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Yamamoto rolls with it to try and escape but Dirksz cranks on the arm and Yamamoto is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Diomar Dirksz! A very excited looking Diomar Dirksz rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

#R1# Dayley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dayley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dirksz. Dirksz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dayley appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Dirksz's coach down at Club Savage MMA Tokyo was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dirksz's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. JD Dayley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diomar Dirksz. Dirksz tries to clinch up#TD# and Dayley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dayley. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dayley works over Dirksz with some ground and pound from guard. Dayley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dayley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dirksz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dayley is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.#SUB2# Dayley has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Dirksz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Dayley is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Dirksz pulls down on the head and he's put Dayley to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Diomar Dirksz! Diomar Dirksz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Veli keeping moving, preventing Dirksz from controlling successfully. Veli keeping full guard, as Dirksz tries to pass. Dirksz wants to control from the top but Veli keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Veli wants to stand up but Dirksz is controlling him. Dirksz pushing down on Veli's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Veli is in trouble now - Dirksz has advanced to mount! #T1# Poor strikes thrown by Dirksz there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dirksz trying to control but he's not successful this time. #SUB# Dirksz has control of Veli's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Veli regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Dirksz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#SUB# Dirksz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Veli has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dirksz won't let Veli get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. #T3##SUB# Dirksz is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Veli is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Veli flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Dirksz anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Veli and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Dirksz slips an arm under Veli chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Dirksz has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Dirksz is squeezing on Veli like an anaconda would it's prey. Veli fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Diomar Dirksz! A relieved looking Diomar Dirksz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
