Let's hope that McDonald has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jerome tries to improve position but can't.

Jerome stuffs the takedown attempt from Larry. Larry gets slowly back to his feet.
Larry's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jerome connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Larry scrambles back to his feet.
Larry moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jerome lands a glancing blow to the side of Larry's head.
Jab, jab by Jerome - just one landing.
Jerome displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larry.
Jerome misses with a two punch combination.
Jerome throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jerome throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Larry crashing down! Larry tries to stagger back to his feet but Jerome just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Larry asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Jerome!
King Jerome decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Jerome is trying to trip Hayes. He has hold of a leg but Hayes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jerome persists though and gets the takedown into guard.#ES#

Jerome drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hayes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jerome has Hayes in his guard.#REVR##T1#

Jerome working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hayes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hayes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jerome is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hayes can't fight it off and eventually Jerome manages to take the fight to the floor. Hayes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
